What’s matcha?

Matcha is a type of finely ground green tea that is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies. It is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, which are ground into a fine powder and then mixed with hot water to create a frothy, green tea drink. Matcha is known for its bright green color, as well as its unique flavor, which is slightly sweet and vegetal. It is also rich in antioxidants and has been shown to have a number of health benefits, including improving mental clarity and concentration, boosting the immune system, and aiding in weight loss. In addition to being enjoyed as a hot tea, matcha is also used in a variety of food and drink recipes, including ice cream, lattes, and baked goods. At TapShack we use matcha for our Matcha-ade kombucha. Paired with lemon and blackberry, it’s a super refreshing treat!
